1. What is the procedure for applying for
student visa to study in London?
All international students, except those from the
European Union, should obtain entry clearance from
a British Embassy or High Commission in their country
before travelling to the UK. Upon application, you
must satisfy the visa officer that:
• You have been accepted for a full-time course
of study, that is, at least 15 hours per week.
• You can pay the tuition fees and maintain
yourself.
• You intend to leave the UK at the end of your
course. Please note that you will need to produce
original letters and documents, i.e. the college offer
letter, and a letter from your sponsor or a bank statement.

2. What is the average cost
of living in London as an international student?
Students will need £400-£500 a month to
cover living expenses. This includes accommodation,
food and transportation. This may vary depending on
the area you live in, your budget and your life style.
3. Can I work in the UK while
studying?
Yes, students may work part time during term time (dependant
on course) and full time during holidays.
• Students following a course
of degree level study or a foundation degree may work
for 20 hours per week in term time.
• Students following a course of study below degree
level (excluding a foundation degree course) may work
for 10 hours per week.
Please note that the hours a student
may work as specified above cannot and MUST NOT be exceeded.
The Home Office are taking strict measures against those
students that do not follow these rules.
4. I'm told that I can work
in the UK after completing my studies. Is this true?
Yes, this is true. Under the New Tier Point Based System
introduced by the Government, students who have completed
courses may now take up employment in the UK that allows
individuals to do work after a professional or specialist
qualification. Please visit the Home Office website

5. Can I defer or change my
course after I arrive in London?
No, students will not be permitted to defer or change
the course in London.
6. Is it necessary to buy textbooks
on the different subjects?
No. You will be given handouts that will detail the
main principles and concepts for each subject you study.
Textbooks that we recommend are all available at the
college. .
7. How will my work be assessed?
Your final grades are based on your performance in exams
and course assignments. Your final grades therefore
indicate your performance throughout your course.
8. What happens after I make
my payment to enrol in the college?
Once your payment clears in our account, we will send
you your student letters, which is needed before a student
visa can be issued to you in your home country.
9. What about accommodation
in London?
The college has close links with specialist home stay
agencies in London and we can book a place in host families,
hostels and shared flats for you. Email us with your
needs well before your arrival to enable us to make
the most suitable arrangements for you.
10. What is the required level
of entry?
Once your application has been assessed, you will be
offered a level of study, which we feel is suitable
to your experience and qualifications. However, if you
have not included all of your qualifications in your
application or if you have relevant work experience
that may lead to a higher level of entry then please
submit any additional evidence to support your application.
11. Can I get exemption from
one or more units of a course?
Yes, you have to apply along with your application form
and depending on the course of study and prior qualifications
you may be given exemption.
12. Will my tuition fees be
refunded if my application for a student visa is refused?
Whilst tuition fees are not normally refundable, if
a prospective overseas student is unable to obtain a
student visa and can submit written evidence of this
(British Immigration form APP 200) tuition fees will
be refunded less the administrative fee of £200.
13. Can I pay my fees by instalments?
Yes, you can pay tuition fees on an instalment basis.
14. How can I pay my tuition
fees?
Tuition fees may be paid either directly to the college
by cheque, credit card or cash, or sent from overseas
by bankers draft or telegraphic transfer. Please contact
the college Administrator for further information.
15. What if I join my course
late?
College regulations state that we are able to accept
students up to two weeks after the start of lectures.
16. How many lectures will
I have per week?
All full time courses are made up of around 18 hours
of lectures per week.
17. What social activities
does the college organise?
The college arranges visits to pubs, quiz nights, picnics
in the park, staff/student parties, trips to Europe
and London attractions and all students are encouraged
to get involved.
